Busy May

May is a busy month in the Nance Household.  A whole latta Birthdays. Miss Kenlee turned 10.  I guess when you turn 10 your very specific with what you want for your special day....She didn't want a "FRIEND" Birthday party this year, She just wanted to go to the Geriatric Buffet  Golden Coral with her family.  She didn't want "CAKE AND ICE CREAM" she just wanted an Ice Cream Cake. And of course a volley ball. Because according to her she rocks at volleyball!
( I did surprise her with a one friend sleepover, cuz I'm just cool like that.)

Tanner Man turned 8
He won the birthday round up on the radio, ya he rocks.
Earlier in the month he went on a field trip Ice Skating, and could hardly wait to go again, So we went with his little friend Emmett. Oh ya and he made his own birthday cake. He did not have to go to school that day, and that was "awesome"!

Kenlee is still my cute little Dancer. Her team took First place (in her division) at the America On Stage Competition.

Happy Mother's Day To Me!

 I've been a mom for 10 whole years and 1 day.  It's been the best and worst thing ever!! Maybe you think that sounds horrible. But it's for real.

I remember when I was little and people would ask me, "what do you want to be when you grow up" I would say, " A MOM" !!

After a long time and lots of tears, and  at the age of 25 I had a Miss Kenlee Poo. 2 years later a Tanner Man and than another long time and lots more tears,  Miss Emmy Lou Whoo came.

I am so blessed.

Kenlee is my bestest little friend.  She loves to help.  She is smart, and pretty. She is growing too, too fast.
I love our little talks on my bed. 

Tanner Man is kind. He is a gentleman. He is tender hearted and would do anything for you. He like things to be fair for the other person. He is my example. I want to be like him!

Emmy is my baby. I love her! I'm so thankful I get to stay home with her.

Pippin is my Rat Dog. I love him I hate him.  He has to be by me most every moment. He loves me....and I love it.   He worries about Emmy. Really. He is always checking on her. If she cries and I'm in the other room, He'll perk up, look at me, listen, look at me again like he is saying "um hello...the baby is crying...go get her"

There are day's when I go to my closet and cry.  I cry cuz it's hard! I cry cuz I want to give up.  I cry cuz I suck at it. I cry cuz I have no patients and I say horrible things, and have horrible thoughts. I cry cuz I worry. I cry cuz I love them so much and want everything for them. I cry cuz they have this thing called Free Agency. I cry cuz I'm scared.

I cry because I have a Savior that has already felt all these things, He loves me. I wipe my tears. And start again. With the courage and knowledge that He is here helping me.

I'm just a girl. That has been blessed with 3 of Heavenly Fathers special little beings. I love them more and more everyday. I love their Daddy.

I wouldn't trade any of it, not the good not the bad.

Today I got to be with some of the best moms I know. My  own mom, my sisters, and the memory of my Grandma. Today was a good day.

There's also a "group" of  moms  I admire though I don't know them IRL... but they are real, they post real things, and help me remember I'm not the only mom who might cry in her closet. (Happy Mothers day to  Jennifer, Glam, Chief,  M-cat, Krissa, The Countess, Miss Mindi and Maggie Mae)

I love Mother's day. Not cuz sometimes I get a present , . Not cuz I expect to get pampered and waited on . But because everyday I get to serve them, and though some day's I hate it...  This day is a reminder that I LOVE IT EVEN MORE!!

My Sewing Skills......um yah...need help!

So I've seen some way cute STUFF online, love those time wasters.

Any hoo I keep seeing these super cute "ruffle" clothes and thought. I wanna play.

So my attempt at "super cute ruffle clothes"

I went to my fabulous laundry room <---favorite room of the house

and in my ceiling to floor beautiful "black willow" cabinets I find all my scrap material.

This is what I choose:



Next I start cutting out strips ( I did three inches wide )



and I make ruffles ( My Grandama Norton taught me how to make ruffles when I was 12, you could Google it if you want to learn how <-- cuz I'm nice like that! I just use a plain white t-shirt:

I kinda measured where I want the ruffles to go and I sew them on the shirt.

and as you can see it DIDN'T turn out SUPER cute but cute enough for "Ms. Big Enough Now" to want to wear it to school today.

I sewed a ribbon at the top ruffle to hide the raw edge, and It was Missy poo's idea to make a flower and put on it. <---gotta love hot glue!

It was fun anyhow, and it gave me something to do, now I'll go get on Pinterest and find something else to massacre I mean try to make.

Hate, Love, Relationship

I got married.

He had a job.

Then another.

Then another.

Etc.

Etc.

He now is a General Contractor/Pig Farmer <--- ha ha

To bad no one is hiring General Contractor's these day.

I'm glad he has other talents from Jobs 1, 2, 3, 4, and so on to fall back on.

Anyhoo he builds houses. He has built me a couple. The things he does amazes me!!

So this house... he put in Hard Wood Floors! I love them. I hate Them!!




I do not enjoy carpet. Kucka Mucka!! When I see all that I sweep up (or don't) from my wood floors I think ick. and then to think whats is in my carpet? ick.

Anyway I'm posting today about my wood floors. They show EVERYTHING. all the dust, ashes, wood chips (wood burning stove) hair, dog prints, kid prints. splashes EVERYTHING! I would have to sweep, scrub, mop all day everyday to have them look clean.

But on the other hand I love them cuz they're not carpet.

Oh ya another thing is they're noisy especially when you have two kids with elephant feet. My new favorite saying, "shhhhh, quiet feet" (thanks Jewly)

Today!

I saw this fun little game at B.R.A.G.S Scraps blog, looked kinda fun and I need a topic to journal (blog) about so here it goes, it's called TODAY.

• TODAY I loved seeing baby socks in my laundry. I loved it yesterday and the day before too, having another member in the fam adds a ton more laundry to do but I smile every time I see a teeny tiny baby sock, now if I can just find the match!

• TODAY I am thankful for my sister #5's heart, spirit testimoney etc. She is not afraid to voice and share it. I felt it in her words today. And she is quite the example for me!

TODAY I am thankful for Health, though it is not in our house right now, Tanner man is home sick and Kenlee went to school late, and I hope a little Miss Emmy dosen't catch anything, but this to shall pass and I know we will see germ free bedrooms again!

TODAY is Feb. I love the Season changes, even though it's spring weather, I am looking forward to some snow, even if it does come in April.

• TODAY I want to say thanks to all those who have helped with the new baby, if it was a gift, dinner, plane tickets and time, thoughts, prayers, kind words, sarcastic words :) I have sent some THANK YOU cards but not enough I know I missed the majority of you but please now I am THANKFUL!

Home again, Home again, Jiggity Jog!

I've been a working girl for the last 6 years. I have enjoyed working. I love getting out of my house. I had my sister to watch cute kids for a couple hours a day. And then all of a sudden a WAVE hit and my world turned upside down, (which is a good thing). My sister moved away, (and I hate it) And I was blessed with a Little Miss Emmy Lou. So without a SISTER #1 to watch kids, I made the choice to be a stay at home mom...... I told my boss Last Sunday that I wasn't coming back to work any time soon. She is wonderful and said I am welcome back whenever I was ready and she thought I had made a good decision to stay home....ME TOO!! It was a hard decision but a Grrrreat one.
So meet Miss Emmy Nance She arrived on January 1st
(not the first new year baby... dang it!!)

So It's been 2 weeks. We don't sleep well at night. We are adjusting to a new life style. Kenlee adores her and is the biggest helper ever. Tanner man is not so interested in her. Jerm says she's wrapped around his little finger already. And Me....I'm in heaven! I love holding a snugly baby all day. We read books and nap and eat (oh how I love to eat again) Pregnancy Sucked this time around. Hence no blogs for the last couple of months. And it's nice to feel "nice" again!!

So my stay at home project today was this:

One of my BFF's gave me a cute snugly blankie, That we were trying to decide if we wanted it kept as a blanket or make a cute "Car seat Canopy" out of it. I chose a canopy!



I bought some material for 76 cents and made the strips.



Put some Velcro on them:

I'm glad to be home! Hopefully my house will stay cleaner, I'll Journal (blog) more, and I wont miss out on a cute little Emmy growing up!
